Charlotte native Lawrence W. Lueke studied art at the University of Miami, Queens University of Charlotte, and CPCC. Best known for his interpretations of Charlotte's nostalgic landmarks, he has published a number of limited edition fine art prints since the studio opened in 1996. These include four commissioned works for Downtown Monroe, Inc. and two pieces featuring NASCAR legend Ned Jarrett (commissioned by JDK Racing, a NASCAR Racing Classics company). In addition, several of his originals have been purchased by Reformed Theological Seminary and are now part of their permanent collection. He has sold numerous original works to private collectors and done an extensive number of commissioned architectural paintings for clients across the United States.
Lawrence has exhibited at many locations throughout the region, some of which include the Southern Christmas Show, the NASCAR Preview Show, Southern Women's Show, Charlotte Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Studio at Kothe Howard (selected as their N.C. Artist of the Month), WSOC-TV, Reformed Theological Seminary, Das Oktoberfest, Central Carolina Bank, Monroe ArtFest and the Carolina Christmas Crafts Show.
Some of his best known works are part of the successful Charlotte Nostalgia Series - a limited edition collection of prints reflecting memorable Charlotte landmarks from the 50's and 60's. His prints have been featured at Visit Charlotte and are now exclusively available at the Blacklion, Charlotte NC.
